Short and honest
Privacy
Vægtergården is a private farm, not a company with a legal department. So this is simple.
Who we are
This site is run by Lars Sommer and Louise Dalsgart, Klodskovvej 70, Byskov, DK-4863 Eskilstrup. Write to hej@jegerlars.dk if you have any questions.
What we keep
Only what you write to us yourself:
- The contact form: name, email, phone number if given, and your message.
- Signing up for Shrovetide and other events: name, email, phone number if given, how many of you are coming, and any message.
We use it to reply to you and to know how many buns to bake. We don't send newsletters, and we never pass on or sell your details to anyone.
How long
Sign-ups are deleted once the event is over. Messages are deleted when we no longer need them - after a year at the latest. If your horse is stabled here, we naturally keep your contact details for as long as it stays at the farm.
Where it is stored
The site and its database are hosted by Infomaniak in Switzerland. Messages are also forwarded to our own email.
Cookies and tracking
No statistics, no ads, no tracking. The site sets just one technical cookie, needed for the forms to work, and it disappears when you close your browser. The fonts are served from our own server.
The map on the contact page is loaded from OpenStreetMap. When you view it, OpenStreetMap receives your IP address, as with any visit to their site.
The stable system and the Vægtergården app
We use the stable system to run the stable. It exists as a website and as an iOS app. Here is what is stored and what you can switch off.
Who has an account
Only invited horse owners and the stable itself (the administrators). You cannot sign up on your own.
What we keep
- Your account: name, email and phone number if you give one. The password is stored as a hash, so nobody can read it, not even us.
- Your horse: feeding plan, contacts, profile and photo, plus the logbook with notes and any photos.
- What you write yourself: shifts, posts and comments, tasks and calendar entries.
- Notifications: the messages the system sends you.
- Login: when you log in, we store a login key. On the website it is a cookie that remembers you for 30 days. In the app it is a key with the name of your phone. You can see and revoke them under your account.
- Push messages in the app: if you turn them on, we store the phone's push token, the phone's name and the app version. The messages are sent through the Apple Push Notification service, so Apple can see that a message is sent to your phone. You can turn off each kind of message and choose quiet hours.
- Log: we keep which IP addresses have tried to log in, and who changed what. We use it to stop password guessing and to be able to fix errors. We do not delete this log automatically.
Who can see what
Everyone at the stable can see what is shared: shift plan, feeding plans, paddocks, calendar, posts and tasks. Private logbook notes can only be seen by the horse's owner and the stable. The same goes for chip number, passport number and private notes about the horse. Your phone number and email are only shown to others if you choose so yourself.
Where it is stored
With the same web host as the website, Infomaniak in Switzerland. Photos are on the same server. The only thing that leaves our server is the push messages themselves, which go to Apple.
How long
- We delete notifications automatically after 180 days.
- We delete phones registered for push if they have not been used for 120 days, or if their login key has been revoked.
- We clear the push queue after 7 days.
- Everything else we keep for as long as you have an account.
When someone leaves the stable, we anonymise the account. Name, email, phone, password, login keys, phones and notifications are deleted. Shifts and posts remain as "Former user".
The app
The app has no ads, no tracking and no analytics.
- Camera and photos: The app only uses them if you yourself want to take or choose a picture. You can use the app without them.
- Calendar: The app only uses it if you yourself choose to put entries in your phone's calendar. They are written to a separate calendar called "Vægtergården". The app does not read anything from your other calendars.
Delete your data
